For Authors or Illustrators

If you're on twitter and have written or illustrated a traditionally published book for children or teens that's about to be published, follow @bookbday, and DM or direct message the publication date | TITLE | @twittername | genre | publisher (Genre key: PB = Picture Book, CB = Chapter Book, MG = Middle Grade, YA = Young Adult, NF = Nonfiction.) I'll need at least a week in advance of your launch date to get the party set up.

The day your book releases (full list here), we'll spread the news, raise a glass, break out the chocolate, and virtually party with you. I’ll also provide a link to an independent bookseller of your choice (send me the link featuring your book) or to IndieBound so that thousands of tweeps can buy your book. In exchange, you agree to re-tweet toasts to the other books as often as you can -- do your best, don't stress out.

Make it easy to tweet these parties.
Since this is a one-woman job for now (it's me, Mitali Perkins, most recently the author of BAMBOO PEOPLE from Charlesbridge and SECRET KEEPER from Delacorte, but I welcome other party planners who want to help), I've tried to keep this simple. Follow these instructions, and each twitter party will appear automatically in your twitter stream on the day of each book's release. Feel free to send personalized messages of admiration and delight to the author or illustrator on publication day as well.
